Codeworks

The boot camp was intense no doubt; especially if you are new to coding which I was. nevertheless I have learnt a lot and more importantly I have developed the ability to learn and apply new technologies faster. so I would recommend codeworks to anyone but you have to put in the work definitely not a spoon feeding environment.

very fast pace(you can get lost trying to deeply understand every info that you are given).
The program structure can be confusing ; it forces you to trust in the process but what i can say is that at the end of the course it will make sense.
the course doesn't teach you in-depth on every thing; it gives you a strong foundation  

  

Overall I am really please with Codeworks' Web Development Immersive bootcamp. Codeworks' curriculum is structured into several phases, each targeting specific skills and knowledge areas that gave me what I need to break into the industry. Here's a breakdown:

Pre-course (remote): Students begin with a 60-hour preparatory course covering the fundamentals of programming, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. This phase ensures that all attendees have a baseline level of knowledge before diving deeper.

Main Course (I did remotely): This phase is the core of the bootcamp, lasting 8 weeks (12 weeks if you do Software Engineering Immersive). It is divided into two main sections:

- Junior Phase: Focuses on foundational web technologies like JavaScript ES6+, React, Node.js, Express, and SQL & NoSQL databases. It also covers essential concepts in software engineering such as data structures, algorithms, and version control with Git.

- Senior Phase: Shifts focus towards more complex topics, including security and authentication. 

If you go for the software engineering immersive, you'll also learn about DevOps practices, including continuous integration and deployment, which are highly valued in the industry.

Projects and Hands-On Learning: The curriculum emphasizes real-world applicability through project-based learning. I went through one solo project, but if again if you are on the 12 week program, you'll get to experience 2 more group projects which  really helps simulate real-life scenarios and working in teams to develop functional web applications.

Career Services and Industry Preparation: The bootcamp concludes with intensive job preparation workshops. These include mock interviews, portfolio development, and networking strategies, tailored to meet the demands of tech employers.

This is a very intense, but full of impactful results coding bootcamp.
The course I took lasts for 12 weeks, divided in to chunks of 6 weeks. 
For me the highlights of Codeworks are:

• Very dedicated instructors, always eager to solve issues and roadblocks, while allowing you to grow
• Well curated program and schedule
• Encouragement for growing in soft skills, such as presentations. 
• Strong emphasis on team work and pair programming
• Constant upgrades to stay up to the latest technologies
• Top notch career coaching after completion. You are given a very useful set of tools and mindset training for job search and negotiating offers. You need to report weekly on your progress

Attending this bootcamp means working hard from Monday to Saturday for 12 weeks, with a break in the middle. So you need to make space for it in your life, but once you start I think it's easy to flow and just follow the program. I recommend 100%

The overall course experience was incredible  and everything that is promoted on their website is true. The application process itself gives an accurate glimpse into what you can expect for the entire course -- intense workload, high expectations, but high quality curriculum and instructors to support you the entire way. This course is definitely not for those looking to coast through a coding bootcamp. It is designed for those who are willing and committed to live and breathe nothing but coding for 12 weeks, for those who love challenge and are ready to keep pushing to learn and work through challenges every day of the course. For those students, you walk away with the confidence and ability to learn any new programming language and solve any problem thrown your way in your first software engineering job. Furthermore, Codeworks provides incredible resources and support in landing your dream software engineering job after the conclusion of the program. I could not recommend this program more. 

 Having no experience on Bootcamp than Codeworks I cant say “It’s not any other Bootcamp out there” but having heard about other Bootcamp from their student I can say that Codeworks is intense compared to other Bootcamps. Their pre course work alone is very challenging making it quite difficult to get admitted but having said this, they offer enough materials and support for aspiring student to be able to finish the pre course even without prior experience or knowledge. 

 

I would recommend doing it in person rather than remote but thats just personal preference as it can be done fully remote. I personally enjoy doing and learning things on my own but instructors are very supportive when you need them. The course materials are informative though some are not up-to-date the instructors covers that by explaining the topic further and giving more real life examples when needed. 

 

The job support that Codeworks offers is one of, if not, the best out there. It is one of the main reasons why I chose to attend Codeworks. This is certainly one of the things that they got correctly. Not only with the weekly calls but also being available when you need a one-on-one session. 

I highly recommend this bootcamp. It's a unique experience where you'll learn advanced JavaScript concepts from day to night, and how to initiate projects with renowned frameworks. The instructors are well-prepared, and the daily schedule is structured so that you spend nearly 10 hours a day programming, in addition to the daily theoretical sessions you'll attend. They take tracking your progress very seriously. Every week, I've been able to review the state of my applications with my tutor, and finding a job has been much simpler and quicker than I expected. You truly come out prepared to face the technical tests and interviews required when job hunting.

I though it would be useful for potential applicants to be aware of the Pay When You Get Hired  (Deferred payment plan) criteria.

Codeworks only award this to less than 20% of students that apply for the deferred payment plan. 
That means that of the 2-3% of students that are admitted only 1 student per location can be awarded this financing option. 
They pick 1 person out of hundreds of applicants which they say is especially challenging as all of the students that make it through the admissions process are quite remarkable with incredible life stories, technical skills, and soft skills....

I was not made aware of these criteria until already admitted and thought they would be useful when deciding on your bootcamp!

My Overall Experience rating would be  2 stars as they were kind and helpful when trying to have sign up and pay for their bootcamp.
I have only added ratings for the other areas such as Instructors, Curriculum, Job Assistance as the form would not allow me to leave them blank.
